Bavarian Restaurant and Bakery in Oscoda

Bavarian typically means German, they serve German food once a year. 4 of us went, none of us were impressed with the food, it was less than mediocre. The bakery is decent but still not impressive.

Food was greasy

Wait time is a little slow, but it is a family run operation, food is good, will eat there when in town.

Good bakery and ok service

We didn't stop in at the restaurant, but grabbed some baked goods for the road. Prices were fair, as was the food.

OMG this is the best homemade donuts and pastries place in UP!!! I can’t wait to go back fresh homemade breads too!! Fast dining love the family restaurant

We stopped to give it a try , nice invirment tried the donuts not impressed like day old even though they were in glass case tried the breakfasts I had sausage gravy and biscuits , weif had traditional eggs bacon hash browns . Eggs were good hash browns were burnt bacon burnt . Sausage gravy good but saulty .

Pancakes were good pastries were good normal breakfast item such as eggs bacon omelet cetera are average at best. Stick to the pastries and the fresh baked stuff and you'll be just fine.

When is Oscoda a must to visit. Great bakery and home baked goods. Offers breakfast and lunch. Parking is great. The staff is attentive and friendly. We always stop to eat at the Bavarian Bakery & Restaurant when in Oscoda and so should you.

I consider my self a down state regular, they have GREAT sour cream donuts (coffee dippers) great service and obviously taking the pandemic seriously I felt very comfortable when I stopped in. I was a little disappointed that a "Karen" was behind me in line but the gentleman at the register handled it perfectly 👌

I purchased donuts this morning. They were a hit. I came back for a late breakfast, or breakfast, part two. I ordered the dough god sandwich. It was good.

Average family style breakfast food. I was a little shocked when the waitress (rather rudely) told me "we don't do that" when I asked for just egg whites... I mean, how hard is it to separate the whites from the yolk??? Otherwise, fast service and reasonably priced.

Last time I was there had dirty coffee pots left on tables. Pancakes tastes like crisco......

Friendly staff. Great breakfast! Reasonable prices with good portions, and they have a bakery. Yummy

my other half had an omelette by the time we got home she was throwing up the eggs were uncooked and completely unsatisfied

For many years it's been tradition for us to go here every time we go to Oscoda. The diner is good and has great breakfasts but the bakery is out of this world! Especially their strudel and donuts. I love their strawberry rhubarb pie when it's available.

Waitress messed up my drinks and my biscuits were rock hard and cold.

Food is always great. Service is top notch. Breakfast or lunch you can't go wrong.

Just had pastries and was disappointed. The pastry was dry and the chocolate topping tasted burnt.

Very good breakfast selection with their own bakery. They were extremely good with COVID mitigation measures (masks, distancing, etc.)

My fiance went two days in a row. The first day he came back and looked in the donut bag and said I didn't order these two (sprinkle donuts) no wonder it cost so much. Okay, not the biggest deal. He went today and they tried the SAME thing! Also our cream filled Long John had zero cream in it!

Literally the best restaurant in town and they aren't even open after 3pm. Get the biscuits and grave they are amazing!!! Went here many times strictly for the B&G. The donuts and pastries are also top notch and they have a pretty good selection as well. Would definitely reccomend to anyone visiting town or passing through. Most of the locals have never even been there.

Good breakfast food, average lunch food, and excellent doughnuts / pastries at reasonable prices. Remember... they close at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

Omelette was good, biscuit gravy is very tasty. Bacon is weird, hard and chewy like jerky. French toast was a bit lacking.
